
Greening Grace
Members of the Greening Grace group seek to inspire, educate, and encourage
each other – and the Grace Church community as a whole – to move toward
environmental sustainability and energy efficiency.
Customers of Western Mass. Electric Company who join Western Mass Saves will save
energy andmoney on utility bills! A free 1 kw solar array will be donated to the Amherst
Regional High School if by November 2011 the Town can reduce its energy use by 3%.

Members of Greening Grace are helping to organize events on September 24, 2011,
Moving Planet Day, in Amherst, Northampton, and Boston.
We welcome your help. Please join us!
In its efforts to steward our beautiful but fragile earth, Greening Grace has initiated
and participated in a variety of events and activities, including, for example:
- Organizing celebrations of Earth Day/Creation Sunday;
- Offering Low Carbon Diet workshops to help parishioners learn how to
reduce their consumption of fossil fuels;
- Presenting displays of consumer products made of recycled materials;
- Providing monthly Eco-Tips;
- Participating in national events such as Step It Up, Focus the Nation, National Teach-In on Global Warming, and 350.org, and hosting the Interfaith Walk for Climate Rescue;
- Participating in the St. Nicholas Bazaar by selling eye-catching light switch plates, reusable wrap bags,
draft dodgers (to block cold air at doors and windows), birdhouses, and other eco-friendly items;
- Arranging for energy audits of the church buildings;
- Maintaining an environmental bulletin board.
