Haiti Ministry
We have made good progress so far in raising funds to outfit our students at St. Matthieu but there is more to be done! Each student will receive a locally made new uniform
for $50 and fresh school supplies for $25, but any amount is welcome. To donate: send a check made out to Grace Church with Haiti Uniform Campaign in the memo line; or use the church website, (click :give”, then “Haiti Ministry”-note-uniforms); or meet with us at coffee hour this Sunday. Mesi anpil!
Why Education for Ministry (EfM)? We all face the difficult and often subtle task of interpreting the richness of the church’s faith in a complex and confusing world. What is needed is a theological education which supports our faith and teaches us to express that faith in day-to-day events. Join Education for Ministry (EfM) to…deepen your Christian faith, learn how to articulate that faith and let that faith inspire you into action!
The Rev. Eliot Moss, (past) EfM mentor writes: “The hook of EfM is the structured study of Scripture, church history, and theology, which of course provides a wonderful base for ministry, but what I, and I think most people, find to be most powerful about it is the spiritual formation that happens when you participate in spiritual reflection and small group worship week after week. You come to see the world with more spiritual eyes, and to discern God’s calling for you, your unique ministry. In my case it turned out to be bi-vocational priesthood, but EfM is not primarily about developing people for ordained ministry – it is about helping them see and live into their particular calling as a baptized child of God and member of the Church.”
I am putting together a group for 2026-27. We will meet on Tuesday evenings from 7pm to 9 pm from September through May on Zoom. For more information contact James McDonald, James.ross.mcd@gmail.com.
